ASTM Desigation of TP 316

I'm having a hard time trying to find out what TP stands for in the ASTM for stainless steels. Also GR.

I'm guessing: Tube Plate and General Requirements

does anyone know?

TP = Tubular Product

GR = GRade

TP and GR usually refers to type and grade. Good luck.

NO!! TP does not mean 'type' - that is a VERY common misconception.
