my dears, what is ratio between front end clearance volume and rear end clearance volume in double acting reciprocating compressor which is forcing methane from 450 psig to 65o psig. total clearance between cylinder and stroke is 7mm .thanks

Clearance volume is a function flow required and as the Sith Lord has said is particular to your design.

The ratio between head end and crank end clearance is also dependant on piston, size, and rod size and is adjusted to balance the PV cards in order to balance rod loading. In addition fixed clearance can be added or variable clearance can be used to adjust flow. On a very high pressure small diameter piston with a tail rod the ratio will be 1:1. On a very low pressure piston of very large diameter the ratio will also be close to 1:1.
