We have Turbine rotor bearing area need to be build up and machine. Does any body knows what is the interference size, required between the bearing and shaft. shaft is 2inch, and bearing is ball type.
I guess this is small turbine, if the rotor shaft has ~ 2' of diameter. I found on SKF site such recommendation: bearing hole 49.985 - 50.00 and for shaft (k6) 50.002 -50.015 and we have min. interference= 0.002 and max interference= 0.03. But if take n5 for shaft (50.02 - 50.033) we'll have min. interference = 0.02 and max = 0.048. I feel that this is the best one. I do not have any if about work conditions, so I am not sure. Do not you have any data how it looked like before shaft build up activity?
