In any case, it would be a violation of your privacy and you can sue them for that. At least make a complaint to the police or something.

I'm not sure if microwave eavesdropping exists (I'll have to research on that later). I've heard of laser and long-range microphones but not microwave.

Microwave survielance is comon place, the Rusians thought it up years ago when they installed a small resonator iside the great seal of the united states in the Moscow embassy. It worked at 1800Mhz or there abouts and was energized by microwave energy being beemed in and the modulated energy was then simply heard on an ordinay receiver. It was found when a british officer in the air ministry heard conversations on his own radio. This was back in the fifties. Then it was further developed by MI5 and others so even every day objects could be used to reflect and modulate Microwaves for eaves dropping. It is no longer considered secure so has lapsed into dissuse. There really is nothing new in spying.

Thanks Brainwave, I've done a little research and found out about it. Like you said, it's simple but easy to detect and jam.

Solutions:

A microwave detector to find the device/s and report to the police. They lift a couple of fingerprints or do some investigation and arrest someone.

A microwave jammer, as Brainwave suggests. Maybe an ordinary microwave oven might work (I don't know).

It's simple, so build your own (the best defense is a good offense) and use it on them. Of course, you'd be violating the law too so do this at your own risk.

Buy a microwave detector and link it up to an audio device so every time they try to bug you it just hits them with a wall of 3.5Khz. They will soon stop trying to spy on you. When all they get is deafened.

WoW that sounds great.. Would this work for the microphones he mentioned above? Also, by audio device do you mean like a radio with a plug in it or do I have to soder something?

Better yet, if this is real (and not something that should be posted on a psychological help site), you could make up some sort of false story that sets them up for some demonstable action they take as a result of this ill-gotten information. Notarize the information in advance, then allow them to attain it in your privacy. Then videotape them in the act of taking action on it and sue them in civil court for violation of privacy. At the same time, inform their employer as to their actions. What they are doing is illegal and actionable.

What Guest is talking about is very real and happening everywhere. Not just from next door, but from satellite as well. Even though illegal, it may be police who are invading privacy, violating 4th amendment rights. How are you going to prove it? Or where it comes from. Local police told me they could do nothing, it was an fcc matter. Fcc told me (wrongly) it was a local police issue. Thought the Bush administration was illegally wiretapping phones? Not even close. This is the program they refuse to disclose due to "national security". Not only can they listen to pins dropping, they have see through imagery that is good enough to see the shape of your cigar!

Please forward any counter measures to me as well, along with as much detail as possible concerning design, costs, ect.. Any help truely greatly appreciated. You might think we are crazy nuts, but please humor us.
