Has any one here information about the damage and consequences coming from the use of Hard Stamp (Weld # and Welder #) instead of Low Stress over ss pipe 304 and 316.
SS being a work hardening material, use of non-low stress stamps could be detrimental especially if the material is already stressed. The stamped profile may cause fissure or cracks to develop & propagate. Besides SS having a grey finish is easy to electroetch which gives excellent contrast for visibility and long life. Ready electro-etching machines are available in the market. Do remember to rinse off the etching solution.
