Connection of Instrument Earthing & Electrical Earthing at the end

Halo everybody

Is it feasible or technically correct to connect seperate Instrument Earthing & Electrical Earthing at the end of the seperate Earthing pits.

  • Described in local electrical codes? Possibly. They can't be seen from here.
  • An absolute requirement? No.

Hello

If this is a new project or you have small set of instruments in one or two panels then this looks ok to be done, But it will be difficultfor bigger plants at a later stage.

It coould be difficult at some times if you dont ( design properly) isolate properly cause earth from electrical can come to the inst loop through the UPS and the transformers etc, also be carefull while installing the JBs where you take the ground and also during mounting.

Feasible definetly

Desirable 100%

isolation completely depends on your design, Please do not install the potential barriers switches kind of isolators between inst and elec which might lead to problems later on.
