  1. Turn off Caps Lock.
  2. Get in the manhole and use Mk.1 eyeball?

Wha?

Oh, just get in it and have a look, Guv.

If you'd used Milton rings, you wouldn't have had to.

Can I get back to sleep now? <Splutter>

I agree with PW & Stinky

A "first person" visual is your best bet

Good suggestions, but please attend a confined safety class before entering the manhole.

Follow the procedures learned to ensure that you make it out alive.

Hello,

What's the reason you want to inspect this manhole for? Condition? Leakage?

Another question: Is this manhole on an active or dead sanitary sewer line?

WORD OF WARNING! Do not enter any manhole of below ground vault by yourself because of "CONFINED ENTRY" problems that can occur; you may run into accumulated gases or live high voltage electrical wiring while inside the manhole that'll probably kill you or anyone topside that tries to rescue you!

TAKE A CERTIFIED CONFINED ENTRY COURSE!!!!!!!!! It'll save your life!!!!!!!!! IF YOU PLAN ON ENTERING THE MANHOLE MAKE SURE YOU'RE WEARING A PROPER BREATHING APPURATUS, HAZMAT CLOTHING AND ARE HOOKED UP TO A SAFTEY LINE WHERE THEY CAN WENCH YOU UP AND OUT OF THE STRUCTURE!!!

Please, do play this manhole inspection dumb. And, don't be pressured by a Boss or Supervisor to do so either, as it's ultimately your safety and life at stake!!!!!! Good luck!

Have a great sunny day!

Hello Captain

Based on the dimensions given, bodily entry to make a preliminary assesment, hardly seems necessary!

I agree a co-worker should be present

I assumed it is a brick & mortar construction and an above ground visual inspection

seems like a logical place to start

Best Regards
