Recommendation for Laboratory Re-Melt Furnace

11/11/2009 4:29 PM

I am searching for a small size laboratory furnace to melt (re-melt) various metallics to form a sample suitable for analysis on an Optical Emission Spectrometer.

Metals to be melted could be grindings and turnings of any alloy of steel, brass, bronze and perhaps hi-temp alloys such as Ni and Co based.

I have some old info on an electric-arc technique, I am told there also may be an induction (or gas fired?) type furnace setup available. Any info is appreciated on what may be available, I am in the US Midwest. Thanks, TJ

Did you try "small induction furnace" and "arc furnace" in your searches? Many hits turned up for me.
