NETA vs IEEE43 for Insulation Resistance Testing

11/17/2009 11:05 PM

Hello All,

Now that NETA's specification for Acceptance Testing has been accepted by ANSI as an international standard how do we deal with the issue of insulation resistance testing where NETA and IEEE43 specify different DC test voltages for equipment of a particular nominal voltage test rating e.g.

NETA; Nominal Voltage Rating = 600V, test voltage = 1000V

IEEE43; Nominal Voltage Rating >1000V, test voltage = 500V

What is generally accepted? or is it left to the preference of the parties conducting and accepting the test procedure and equipment?
