Ferrite Cores

11/23/2009 2:26 AM

Can anybody kindly answer the following about ferrite cores of TSF-05 & 55 materials.

1-Knee Point of flux Density in Tesla (Tkp), HZ=50 & 60?

2-If a ferrite core is driven well into saturation(say 2xTkp) does it recover back to the same core losses at the previous below saturation flux densities?

3-Is it possible that a ferrite core may disintegrate under prolonged saturation conditions?

4-Could a ferrite core become a fire hazard under prolonged saturation flux density's?

1: Data sheet of material producer/supplier.

2. Yes it will have the low loss again, no hysteresis in loss behaviour existing.

Temperature and stress may influence loss.

3. No. But consider magnetic forces, so in high energy physics and changing flux conditions you will crack everything that is either magnetic or conducting.

4. Odd question: if temperature goes too high by loss then yes, else no.
