MOSFET Questions

Hi guys, i wana know is there a difference between a p channel mosfet which has a positive Drain-source Voltage and a negative Drain-source Voltage. e.g -60V and 60V?

same goes to the Drain Current current,is there a difference between the positive and neagtive drain current?e.g 8A and -8A?


1 more thing i am looking for this MOSFET P CH, STP12OF06 or STN5PF02V but i cant get it around where i live, can anyone give me an alternative mosfet that can give me similar result?

Hi. indeed. The drain and source are in effect bridged by an intrinisic diode that realistically prevents a positive drain source voltage of more than about a volt for P-ch MOSFETs, depending on the diode junction voltage drop.

As for drain-source current, if the gate is enhanced to turn the MOSFET on when the drain is positive with respect to the source, the channel can present a relatively easy current path in parallel with the intrinisic diode.
