We have three Centrifugal operating at between 10 and 21 Bar discharge pressure ( Controlled witha Variable drive) with a suction pressure of 1 Bar....
Do not forget to purge the electric motor with Nitrogen at all times.... In our motors I drilled two 10mm & threaded a 10mm hole, one (N2 Inlet) is near the drive side of the motor & the second is on the non drive end... the N2 passes via a PCV via a flow switch which shutsdown the pump/motor is the N2 purge fails...
We also installed Mechanical seal leak detection...which also shutsdown the pump if a LOX leak is detected (PT100 set at -75ºC)..
Dear sir
Thank you so much for your valuable and nice advices specially about purging gas. How about using reciprocating pump? (for case with 4700 Nm3/h and 23 bar pressure)
The suppliers like Cryostar and Venzetti offered us to use centrifugal type.
The working point on flow-pressure diagram shows that pump works at 22% efficiency.
Is this a accepted value?
