Suzuki Swift Brakes - Squeaks and Whistles

12/12/2009 7:48 AM

Hi to all experienced SWIFT (Suzuki) owners,

I after about 4000 miles I have a wistle/squicks appears when pushing the breaks.

I have heard that Swift comes with low-duty disk breaks (front ones) and that

one must be lucky enough to use the waranty from Suzuki, some owners says that

their disk system was replaced with an advance ones in order to solve the problem...

Is it a known issue, please provide some writen proofs :) links etc.

Thansk

Liron

Have a look at these recall notices for the swift.

Google Suzuki recall.

If your car has only 4000 miles since new, you should be going to the dealer and making a fuss!!!!

Hi Liron,

I got this problem after 5000kms, that too when i drove continuosly in flood waters.

When I asked the service advisor, he told that rust will be accumulated in the disc (visible)after the vehicle is not used for about 2-3 days. After you run the car and apply brakes the disc pads absorb the rust and stick on to them which causes the sound. No harm will be done to the disc or disc pad.

I had this squeaking sound for abt 1500 kms after that it vanished.

Also you can post your questions in swift-life.com exclusively for swift owners

Thanks

Arvind

Hello Arvind,

Your opinion is most likely correct- technologically it make sense,
I contacted the main service station and they have promissed me to handle the phenomenon in depth untill I am satisfied. Benny Rotberg of http://www.ael-group.co.il/ is a true chief marketing officer role engineering and my Suzuki dealership are extraordinary by all means. Nowadays all car dealers are working at the highest responsible manner though, I got a very good support and hospitality by Mr. Roland Hoch of Hoch utomobil in Schwarzwald Titisee-neustadt, Roland helped me so much by coming to my Guest House much aftr dark hours, tested the car with me and continued in his service dealership during the day after with his chief engineer, also let me use his office and even did phone calls in order to expedite my substitute car arrangements. I proud to be a German as well as an Israeli citizen, I have wide perspective on life though.

I thank you Both, Andy and yourself so far for your help.

I promiss to update you after the inspection is done. + PICs.
