Dark LCD Display

12/12/2009 12:25 PM

Dear friends ,

I am having a SANWA Digital Multimeter Model CD800 , in good working condition.(measurements)

But the display become dark. It`s difficult for me to see the reading.

After I dismantle the meter , I found that the LCD display reflector sheet have change color from silver to black.

Can anybody tell me what other material that is suitable to use to replace this reflector sheet.

Thank you.

If it was me, I would first try a plain piece of white paper or card.

Or even a piece of aluminium foil (be careful not to short anything out!!!)

The failure mode for an LCD display is to turn black. Are you sure it is the reflector and not the display itself?

I have to admit that it was just a guess, I am pleased that it helped you out.

But I shall also remember it in case this happens to any of my LCD displays......

Many thanks also for letting us know.....
