Codes and Standards for Grounding

First, grounding what? For something like a building electrical service check with the National Electrical Code handbook. For appliance grounding check with UL or ECL.

In the US, consult NEC Article 250. I have heard also that the Soares Book on Grounding gives good explanations of the principles involved, but I haven't read it myself.

British practice is covered in good old British Standard 7671, like most things electrical.
