Non Material Requirements (NMR)

12/27/2009 9:01 AM

Good day Guys!

Who can help? My question is about NMR (Non Material Requirement). What it covers. What are the types of NMRs. What are the limits of each type. Where is it used. Is that all big organizations use same type of NMRs or are diffierent and their own designed. Of course I know that it is all about engineering documentation of material and projects. Where I can find more literature on it to understand the ABC - Z of it. Tell me more about it. Thank you in advance.

according to my knowledge and experience it i used in engineering especially in construction companies like pipeline oil fields etc its placed after placing unpriced purchase order. after un priced P.O , NMR placed for further process.

well; that sounds a very late response ... I have been throught this NMR in my last project and I know that it's all about design documents... where the contractor usually will issue a preliminary design review (PDR) and the proponent will review and send back the comments. The contractor, then, will issue the Critical Design Review (CDR). The proponent should provide the last comments and rectification. Then, the design will be frozen and the NMR part will be done.

Next, the implementation will carry on ....

i hope this was useful ... Regards;
