Noise Abatement Trim

Please provide details on the cause of Noise in Valves. Any suggestion on how to eliminate it. thanks

Reducing the pressure drop across them is one way. Then, what is a valve other than a means of isolation and of dropping pressure/flowrate (rhetorical question)?

Butterfly valves in particular can exhibit this characteristic, and in their particular case, vortex-disturbing "fingers" can be added to the trailing edge of the disc so as to reduce the problem.
