Control valves basically consist of cast and machined metal, so if a valve is "Fieldbus", it must have a digital positioner on it.

Which Fieldbus are you referring to, HART or Foundation Fieldbus?

Which model/brand positioner ?

Are you attempting to commission a new valve or a new positioner?

Or are you attempting to do something to the valve/postioner to fix a performance issue?

Or is this a homework question?

What exactly do you mean by "calibrate"? What tasks are you attempting to accomplish?

Do you have a handheld communicator, like the Emerson 375, which talks the Fieldbus in question?

I had to go through a three day seminar to learn how to set up, configure, program, and calibrate fieldbus instruments. I don't think it will be easy to teach you in a post on CR4.

regards,

Vulcan
