i would like to know if in boiler teh same oil gun is used for light fuel oil, heavy fuel oil and for coal. is a common oil gun used for all these 3 purpose or not. any documents or pics of the same wil be very helpful.
If you can shoot coal through an oil gun I want to see that!
Depending on the fuel oils many times its just a slight pressure and air flow adjustment that is needed. Years ago I worked at a place that used multi fuel boilers that ran primarily on natural gas but had a fuel oil injector system that could be put in place of the natural gas burner for back up.
The guys in the past had scribed marks on the air shutters for the different fuel types and had a pressure setting reference scratched onto the injector pressure pump and regulator system so that they could easily change settings from one fuel to another.
1D, 2D, 1F, 2F, and ? where the five reference points. I assume they stood for #1 and #2 diesel and #1 and #2 fuel oil. The ? was the highest pressure and air flow setting so it must have been something rather thick that burned hot I guess.
Contact the boiler manufacturer directly for advice.
