can any1 help me with smoke windows for elevators. i would like to know the size and location of the windows and also if or not they are needed.

Man, we need a lot more!

What is a 'smoke window'? A smoke vent? Are there any in your building today? Where are they?

How many floors is the building? How many floors does the cab travel to? What country? Under what model building code?

Is this in design stage, or is it existing and someone comes along and says "...and where are your 'smoke windows' "?

thxs doorman. but i guess i found out frm the elevator vendor they use smoke detectors in the machine room n all levels where the elevator stops and not smoke windows. the country is INDIA and the use area is a boiler house in thermal plant.
