If there is no friction, there can not be a life. .

And that is plain and pure science, think over it, without thinking on wrong directions.

In the simplest, but most critical instance, without friction you would be unable to stand upright. If you can't stand upright, you cannot go to the pub. If you can't go to the pub, you cannot argue with your mates about action/reaction pairs. If you cannot argue about action/reaction pairs, who cares about mechanics? Thus, without friction, we may as well all become television executives. Apres moi le deluge.
