Rotating a diode at 1800rpm should not affect its rating.

I am not an expert in this arena, but from my fundamental knowledge of electrical engineering i would wish to say that please check the excitation current required for the desired alternator voltage. even if you consider a higher rating of diode, it doesn't matter. after all diode acts like a switch. the electrical rating and dimensions also depend on the KVA rating of machine and the mechanical dimensions of alternator(may be i am wrong in this case). Also what type of cooling is considered?? since diode has to withstand the high temperatures inside the alternator.
