Manually Operated Valve (MOV)

02/10/2010 3:35 AM

I have one 12" pipe with MOV on the pipe. The MOV is at higher elevation i.e around 3 meter height. Do i need to give access platform for this. I think for MOV platform is not required.

Ask yourself: If the motor fails, can I wait two days to get the scaffolding built before I try to operate the valve manually or repair it? Your answer answers your question.

The cost matters. The cost of a MOV Vs a Motorized + MOV is the question.

If you need to open / close frequently you can replace with the combination valve to manually operate incase the motor is conked out.

A platform if you you open daily / frequently or to underake maintenance.

The option depends on your application.
