As a kilowatt is one thousand watts (103), one megawatt is one million watts (106). For each hour that a watt of electricity is used, the consumption is 1 watt-hour. So, 1 megawatt times 24 hours is 24 million watt-hours. Or, 2.4 x 107 watt-hours, if you prefer. It's pretty straight forward. Watts x Hours = Watt-Hours

1. Please turn off the all-caps.

2. The unit "megawatts per hour" is not generally meaningful. It's just "megawatts." (There is a possible esoteric application for that weird unit, the explanation of which I leave as an exercise for the reader.)

3. One megawatt for 24 hours = 24 megawatt-hours. Also, 24 megawatts for one hour = 24 megawatt-hours. Pay attention to the hyphen; that is the correct way to spell out units that are multiplied together.

4. The salutation "Dear Sir" is unnecessary, and it disregards the women who contribute to these forums. (Exception: Marcie may address Peppermint Patty as "Sir")

Sincerely yours--Editor Crankshaft
