How to interface any third paraty device on ASCII communication? Please give it with examples

hello, What are you trying to interface too or control? The more info you can us the better answer you may get. What serial protocol? RS-232, 422, 485? or is it parallel? Or are you a student needing help with homework? Which is not a problem if you just tell us. Some on here will help but will not do it all for you but guide you to a proper answer.

i m in PLC automation .I m aware of Modbus RTU.I want to understood Ascii so that i can interface with PLC
