mass = Volume x density

Weight = mass x acceleration due to gravity (g)

It is taught in pre-highschool.

Never heard of a Micro-Soft (MS) beam. What is it ?

Weight = kg/m × m.

Weight = density x volume x g

= density (kg/m3) x volume (m3) x g

Weight per kg/m = (density :kg/m3) x (volume :m3) x g)/ (kg/m) :: per = /

= (crossection perpendicular to the direction of measurement of meter) x g

assuming the OP meant not kg but kgf , we can neglect g (gets merged with the kg)

hence

Weight per kg/meter = crossection of the beam perpendicular to the direction of measurement
