Electric Motor for Transpotation

02/17/2010 12:35 AM

How small would an Atomic energy pac have to be to Run normal Transportation on our Hyways an Byways -- a steam electric generator to get the water? using air that is taken from the air could we us this for the water? - can this be made safe and cheap in comparison if it runs a 100 yr run --could it be in its own box - could be transfered if the car was crushed - Could any one answer this with good authority on the subject - Also can the private sector do this? I think i know but have to ask --Cal

Since you know the answer, then why ask?

The nuclear isotopes are under high degree of control. To run a nuclear chain reaction you need critical mass of the isotope (unless you use reflectors). The same amount of critical mass minus the moderators and controls may be used for making something not so innocious.

So may be it will be not so cheap but definitely it will not be safe.

Then the containment etc will take the volume of a small room (at current technological level)

Then the controls...

Better to try room temperature fission

Damn small (except for the containment)--but then a nuke-powered Stanley Steamer would be a helluva conversation starter!

You would also need to be able to shut the heat off in order to prevent blowing up the boiler during standstill periods.... Depending on the specifics, maybe there is a convenient way to do this?

I think it is good idea but would have to take the Blinders off - i think this is the power we also need for each individual home -- The Fact that Subs run on steam generators and electric motors -- If the air car from India works good than it is simpler to use Steam like (Tornado said) Stanley Steamer is Back!! If we slide the heat sorce apart it stops could be it will not start again?? Could the heat sorce material be the size of a golf Ball? If air could be used as water(humidity) then it would never run out of water -- looks like to stop the heat is one of the opportunities to solve -- Stanley is cool but not as Cool as electric motors ---Cal

Ok, I took the blinders off. I still find that the complexity of such a device renders it in the same realm as over unity machines, except that if you spent a couple billion on research you might come up with a unit that could power a car.

The following statement could have come from some of the OU websites I've seen,

"using air that is taken from the air could we us this for the water?"

I can conceive NO CONDITIONS under which such a deadly device would ever run on a public roadway.

On coment from Lynlynch spend a Billion or two - Our Goverment spent a 900 billion on the Stupid Banks and we will get nothing for that money - If our Goverment was just a little smart and looked out for the people they would do this -- it is not the money that is the stoper - Let us look at the new Nuke Sub that can Run under for a very long time - and it controls heat with the need for Steam to run the generators to run the electric motors - With this in mind the Nuke Sub Manufacture could take off on this and complete in a short time - If our Goverment did not get in the way - I think you know the compexity of this --i can concive it being done - it is not a Bomb it would burn into some thing that would absorb the Nukes heat -- (that is if it got away from its fastners) - I do not see it as Deadly -- I would put my appartment in a Nuke power plant - we need to ask the French ---
