02/18/2010 10:15 AM

I am looking for 3" sch 40 pipe that is perforated with .125" holes. Do you have such a product or something close to it?

How about OP request for .125" (dia?) holes? Regular perf pipe, not certain of perforation hole size, but probably about 1/2" dia, maybe a little bigger.

If small perforations is the need, OP may have to drill them himself?

You did tell him "This is what's easy to get..."

Schedule 40 is not pvc pipe, It would not be much use as a substitute.

Give your pipe to a machine shop and have the holes drilled.

Hello,

We don't sell materials in this Forum.

Have you by chance taken a look at the Lowe's and Home Depot websites for what you're seeking?

BIG HINT: If you don't see it on their websites, call the stores anyway and ask for the department that you'll find the material(s) in. Many times I've found that they don't list quite a bit of their construction materials online for some reason, most likely because the website would be a monster to navigate through and costly to maintain 24/7.

Hello Garth,

Are you sure that PVC pipe doesn't come as Schedule 40? In my manuals and handbooks it does, but does not come perforated. It can also come in Schedule 80 and 120....

Have a great sunny day!

Hi CaptMooosie,

That is the problem with working with steel all the time, I thought it was only a steel spec.

It makes sense that it would probably be PVC pipe as Lynch lynch said why would any body want to drill holes in expensive steel pipe.?

Cheers mate.

Guest,

My local hardware store does not sell schedule 40 pipe. You'll have to go to a pipe supplier for it, as far as I know. Also, I recently had some spargers made with small holes drilled along the length of the pipe. To the best of my limited knowledge, this sort of thing has to be made and cannot be purchased off the shelf. Simple enough to make though.

Pipe+Drill Press+Low Paid Shop Hand+Time=Perforated Pipe.

(You might want to get someone else to lay out the holes first.)

I prefer the sigma notation as it shows the process rather than just the number. To me, the sigma notation is the counting process one uses to count the number of pieces of rice on the chessboard. It's not so much the final number, which is impossible for me to imagine, it's the mathematical construct (the shorthand) that so plainly and simply explains a story that amazed me as a child. Possibly my first step on the way to becoming an engineer.

Hey! The "guest" never mentioned a material! Just said Schedule 40. PVC does not enter the original posting although it is a fair assumption. And PVC is available in Schedule 40 gauge. But- is that what he/she is after?

I may have mislead you with my first response. Perf pipe just jumped into my head. It may have not been what the OP wanted, who knows?
