Printed Circuit Board Storage Requirements

02/25/2010 10:24 AM

I am planning on storing printed circuit boards for a customer. What are the requirements concerning temperature and humidity? Are there other requirements to consider beyond the two in question? Thanks for your help.

Most boards are stored in an anti-static bag with a moisture-absorbent pack.

Assuming solder over copper, the intermetalic layer of bronze continues to grow at a rate proportional to the temperature above absolute zero and so a lower temperature is desirable. Old boards can become hard to solder, but you didn't say for how long you planned to store them.
