Post Type John Deere Earrings

03/04/2010 9:37 AM

Does anyone know where to buy a post (not a hanger) type John Deere tractor earring? And, no, I can't just take the hanger off the hanger type and add a post - they're huge and they'll tear my ear lobe off whenever I slip my respirator strap over.

Seems like most of them are hanger-style, but there is one pair on Ebay that dangle slightly, but are posts.

Hello, TPV45.

Well, would it be practical to maybe use the JD lapel pin? They are pretty common.

I don't have a lot af savvy regarding comfort of pierced earrings, but maybe?

Found these at: http://www.greenfunstore.com/John-Deere-Lapel-Pin_p_131-738.html#

I have seen hat and lapel pins in tractor shape, too.

Thanks, but that brass would leave a green streak down my neck, I think.

If these are small enough for an earring, you can buy a sterling post and solder it on in place of the brass pin.

You can buy a pair of sterling posts for 51 cents, at the very bottom of this page just above the nuts.

Right, and he doesn't want to tear his earlobes off with the respirator strap, so he might want to saw the corners off the lapel pin, maybe just do the deer circle.

Forgive me, but I know next to nothing about earrings - here's all I could find.

They're not John Deere...but they're tractors.

----------

Down at the bottom. They're John Deere logos...still dangly, but maybe you can do something with them? I haven't seen them elsewhere.

I would suggest finding the size earring you like, then remove the ear wire. Solder or epoxy the post on the back of the earrings. The posts and backs can be found on the internet. Search "earring findings"

Go with the lapel pins, cut down if needed. Have your local plater do gold or silver plating.

Ear rings? Are we seriously discussing ear rings? Here is a thought. If they are causing a problem, whether it be safety or comfort, just take them out of your ears and then put them back in your ears when you deem it safe to do so. I am confident it is not a labor or time intensive task.
