Dear Guest,
Ready made softwares are fine if the design of switchboard is totally type tested. the problem with a switchboard which is made standard for the particular current ratings is that ,you cannot reduce the dimensions in case the space constraints are there at site. and of-course. the cost involved in over-dimensioning the switchboard. Regarding estimation, readymade softwares are available, but you need to enter the prices of components in the database. if you want to have a software for control schematics, e-plan is the best( sorry, members, if i am wrong)

It begs the question of why one would hire intelligent beings to design panels when a piece of dumb software can do the job instead (rhetorical question - NNTR)?
