Corporate Social Responsiblity (CSR)

03/08/2010 6:26 AM

Have you heard about CSR ( Corporate Social Responsiblity)?. Many of big corporate houses here in India are adapting CSR, some like TATA group have already done so in the past. Their philosophy has been "What ever is earned from people should go back to them".

Now there's an import that we could sure use some of, particularly when it comes to automobiles and banks. Tell us a little more about this, please.

That philosophy is great, But it would it be difficult to integrated in others. To lets say if there was a union?

To quote Shakespeare, sort of, first let's kill all the lawyers, or this will never work here.

Actually great companies and their products and inventions make money for their makers and their users, or fill a real need and want.

Actually people who are sensible buy things that are actually tools, thus getting bang for their buck.

Nothing really unethical about selling to the suckers for you can't stop them from being stupid.

Of course the Pet Rock is probably worth a good deal of money now. So there is room for all sorts of commerce for which the judgements about what is ethical, and unethical can be entirely dependent on factors that on their face make no sense at all.

I've known people that simply donated money to charity to expiate their guilt over working at things they liked to do, that they had reservations about.

Knew a guy that tithed 10 percent of all he made making commercials for instance, since he said lots of what he worked to advertise was of dubious value.

Do you really need a car?

I myself think I do, but I did get along lots of the time walking or riding a bicycle.

In the end social responsibility is supposed to be what we have as a primary motivation, and not a secondary consideration regardless.

Work is the spiritual quest for the physical necessities.

By Reacting to a situation of most urgent firefighting to save many lives if you have a chance without waiting for the rescue personnel this activity is also a measure of CSR.
