More cost, Less Line Losses , provided the pipe line is properly designed. Otherwise too many reduces and branches may land up in more losses.

In addition to the above, the line behaves more like a reservoir, slowing down the pressure changes as a result of users taking and not taking air from it

Well if you increase the discharge line you have to go back to OEM and advice them about your plan.May be this may require your compressor to be rerated or checked wheather your compressor can compensate the pressure drop. This is a process which needs your OEM to advice you how much compressor can generate pressure(Ploytropic head) to meet your requirment.for example if you hav 10 inch line you want to incread it to 14 inch that needs calculation how much pressure drop is generated if you look at compressor your compressor might not be able compensate to develope tthe required.

So adivce is to go back to OEM and tell them how much is pressure required with a new line.Let them do the necessary check.. THen you proceed.

thanks everyone for your explanation and suggestions, the original size should be 5/8 inch, but now is changing to 7/8, anyway, i will check with supplier for the pressure drop impact on the compressor . thanks.
