A Series of Three Regression Analyses

03/25/2010 4:05 AM

Smooth the raw data from the tests of 5.7.2.1 and 5.7.2.2 using a series of three regression analyses.

All I want to ask here is about "three". I think there is one word missing after the word "three". Is it "times" or such other words that match the situation?

There may not be a missing word, but never heard of this technique. Is it a standard?

As I can guess is, after each analysis, the outliers will be removed and the rest of the data re-regressed.

This will result in a low value of the error.

Control chart does use this technique (we call it homogenisation of data, not smoothening) but never heard or practiced in regression. But then why not.

Hi wingman1985,

It is fine the way it is. It lies in the spelling of the word analyses. Spelled this way it is the plural (more than one) form of the word. The word analysis is the singular form.
