	Comedian Chris Rock pointed out that drug companies have cured only one disease--polio in the 1950s. When drug companies discovered that they couldn't sell any more drugs to polio victims, they stopped curing diseases. Instead, they invent drugs that make it easier to live with a disease. So, if they actually did come up with a cure for cancer, diabetes, heart disease or other diseases that require expensive medications, would they tell us? I seem to remember that researchers in Canada cured diabetes 10 years ago, but that discovery disappeared. __________________ Life is like a sewer. 	This is why you should not get your references from Chris Rock. No one has cured polio, they did develop an immunization for polio as well as for a number of other diseases. So they do develop and sell immunizations to prevent people from getting infections. Theoretically then once everyone has been immunized then no one should ever get that disease again, and the virus would be eradicated. Mumps, measles, and rubella are other examples of diseases that at least in the US are eradicated. On the other hand bacterial diseases are cured all the time. I recently had a ear infection, I took antibiotics, and it was cured. Perhaps not gone from my body, but reduced to level that my own bodily defenses can handle it. However if I come in contact with a similar bacteria I will very likely get an ear infection again. So yes the drug companies cure stuff all the time, and have developed vaccines that have led to the eradication of some diseases. So Chris Rock can go back to his conspiracy theories.

Sorry, I thought it was obvious that since they have before there is no reason why they would not do so again. Would they tell us, yes.. If Glaxo cured cancer, they would achieve such a reputation that their stock would go through the roof, and all their other products would sell like crazy. Curing cancer would be a marketing coup that would last for decades. Now what is your opinion?

	My opinion is that they will sit on the discovery until patents run out on their chemotherapy drugs; then, when Indian pharmaceutical companies start making them in generic form, they will announce the new drug, and make a fortune again. The same is true for heart disease, diabetes and other diseases with expensive drugs: We'll get new and more beneficial medications when their patents run out. Drug companies would rather make money than help people. I bet they already have the cures, and are waiting for patents to expire. __________________ Life is like a sewer. 	The answer is yes they would tell us, and if the drugs (or whatever) passed through all the approval and test procedures safely then we would get to buy them. However, I seriously doubt there would be a wonder drug that cures all cancer, possibly many that cure individual or groups of cancer - end result, the drug companies are still in business. If all else fails they can still fall back on medications for the common cold, etc (or if you are really conspiratorial, make up new illnesses like Chris said in the same comedy show). __________________ jack of all trades

	Having read the books, and watched these videos, and practiced the recommendations for the last 10 years, I am a believer in this program and theory. It is however, highly controversial. Every person must make their own evaluation. 	No because as you stated Phamaceutical companies "...invent drugs that make it easier to live with a disease..." rather eliminate it. They are simply in the business of making money, "capitalism" Give it 10 years or so. __________________ The only way to know is to apply what you learn!
