Comedian Chris Rock pointed out that drug companies have cured only one disease--polio in the 1950s. When drug companies discovered that they couldn't sell any more drugs to polio victims, they stopped curing diseases. Instead, they invent drugs that make it easier to live with a disease.
So, if they actually did come up with a cure for cancer, diabetes, heart disease or other diseases that require expensive medications, would they tell us? I seem to remember that researchers in Canada cured diabetes 10 years ago, but that discovery disappeared.
