.

I would like to help. There are questions to ask to make it possible to understand your entry level.

1.)How much oxy acytelene welding have you done?

2.)Can you carry a keyhole? If you do not understand the vernacular answer no. I will try to explain in a later post.

3.)Do you have access to welding equipment and consumables?

4.)How long before the class begins?

Hello, I have been tig welding for 28 years and I own and operate a pipe fabrication shop in that 90% of the welding we use is tig type welding. You will not be able to just learn the theory of tig welding and be able to do it with very much success. it takes alot of practice to be able to even do the very easiest flat position tig welding without prior welding experiance. If you are just wanting to know the theory of the TIG welding for some sort of report that you are doing then this is not so hard. There are several varibles that need to be established before I can give much help. these are things like: material to be welded and its thickness ( this determines tungsten type and size, electrcal charateristics, filler rod material and size as well as shielding gas type) also what type of welding machine you mean to use would be helpful.
