What do you want to test? A bed sounds like rest or sleep to me?

Thanks, seems like a stand with a water brake device? I originally thought of a magnetic flux bed to test rotors.

I'm taking a lot for granted, like I know what he meant.

That's my take on it.

When I saw the topic I was thinking hydraulic pump, good quality relief valve, big oil tank, and a cooler. Then I saw the picture and there it was. Don't see what the fluid they use is bit the idea is the same. Has to be a better choice then a standard relief valve for the load but I never needed one back when I was repairing balers. Add a cam drive to the valve and a chart recorder to the motor, measure oil flow and pressure and you would have a pretty good indication on how the motor ran under load too. Hardest part is how to align pump and motor, if you only see a few standard sizes maybe a few brackets and flexible hoses would do the trick.

I am actually looking for a test bench/bed for testing electric motors which have been repaired. To check the no load current ,speed , etc. The voltage should be variable from 50 to 500 ac.

In which country?

For what voltage?

For what size motors?

Sounds like you want a test bench that can do electric and mechanikal test on motors.

I can imagine the bench shown above to test more of an engine with than an electric motor since it does not offer any electrical monitoring features.

Therefore you definately need a different test-bench than what is shown here.

Probably, if you can buy the parts, you can easily make this yourself. Start with your variac, a Amperemeter, combined with a voltmeter.

For insulation tests you can use a megger.

To measure the speed a tachometer, a digital one with reflection strip on the shaft, or a magnet with transducer.

A sheet of Isolating material to build you panels in and a workshop light.

And a table to work on, works better than a bed.

Electrotec AB in Sweden make electrical motor test benches, one of their models runs from 6A up to 160A three phase with load, or more with no load. Not sure if this is what you are looking for or if they have any second hand benches for sale.
