Protection for Power Point Presentation

04/10/2010 12:24 PM

Hi, I have a Power Point Presentation made in Windows 2007 and I would like to share it with others over the Internet, but I don't want anyone to modify it. What can I do to protect the file?

You can save it as a read only with password protection. But there will still always be ways to plagiarize and/or modify the intellectual property of others.

There is no perfect way, but I would save it as a PDF for distribution.

I used to save a copy of all my files (PPT, DOC, XLS, .. etc.) in PDF formats through a software like "Adobe Acrobat" which will install a printer appears to you just you click "File" then click "Print" and select that "Printer", then share the files with any of others.

But there are softwares available, which can convert back pdf files to its original format.

But converting those to pdf will protect the files from most of the people, who do not know about these softwares.

Only way to protect the files from modifications is to print each slide on paper. Then scan these papers to pdf file. This file you can share with confidence, as even if some body tries to convert back these pdfs, he will get only images. he will not get those in ppt / word or whatever was the original format.

It's a nice idea but it does not work. One simply uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software, the latest versions of which can read pdf files as well as scanned images, to convert back to the original image and text content. There is simply no way of protecting against this.

You can save it as a PDF and use password protection that will allow you to see exactly who opens the file when and where.

Try Mediafire.com ..it's free

Hi... you can save your files as powerpoint show. In this way, they can't edit this one.. If you are planning to print it as pdf file, I suggest to limit or restrict the access of the file.. you can even disable printing, editing, and many others..
