Noise Problem in I Current Circuit

Good day to all,

Hi

I have one serious problem in one of my project.

Here we are tesing some small pumps. for that we rum one big motor with 10A.

My question is whenever I switch on the drive some noise(more than 10V spikes add on our data acqueeion system) why.

If drive off means no problem. Even that big motor is off and Drive is on means also the same problem is comming.

We gave separate earth and shielded cables, now its reduced to 5V but still the spikes is there.

Our signals are 0 to 10v Dc to the PCI - Card. So this 5V make our readings as fault one.

Please give me a better solution to completly avoid this noise.

Your problem is with high frequency noise caused by the drive. the noise out at the motor is trying to find it's way back to the origin - the drive - in doing so it strays and causes sensitive input signals to rise up and "on" - if you can - you should put a "delay on" to your uProcessor inputs - at least 10msec.

You must used shielded motor cable (and of course seperate any low voltage signals) - be sure 85% braided copper outer shield is connected in a good way to the metal housing of the motor (metal to metal throught he J-box with metal EMC cable gland) - also be sure the shield is connected to the drive chassis or at a minimum the steel back panel directly beneath the drive - use cable clamps arond shield that are VERY tight and all the way around the shield - no pig tails

Make sure the motor and the elec cabient backpanel and elec enclosure are all connected to the same machine chassis in a good way - either a good metal to metal bond or you have to run seperate 3/4" wide flat braided copper braid tot he frame of the machine - remove all paint under connections and use Serrated washer A3.2 DIN 6798 - alias "steel EMC washers" to dig into to metal at each connection - see Newark for best prices and quick delivery of all these materials.
