magnetic locking as breaking system

i want to do a project on magnetic locking as breaking system. for this what are the moters best shuted? i want clarification that with out using mechanical parts. only by using magnetic phenomena and with magnetic charecteristics means by atraction and repultion only, for breaking.

I think you are asking about an "eddy current brake" as described at this link:
