Steam Consumption From a 7MW Turbine

04/14/2010 4:26 AM

I search the steam consumption, from a 7 megawatt turbine, can somebody give me an idea? Steam pressure and ton a hour?

I need to now the consumption to start searching behind a heat recovery boiler package with the right capacity !

What branch off turbine you shut advise?

Suggestion and if someone is able to deliver price and delivery time?7 MW steam turbine package,MCC and fire fighting protection + auxiliary system +software.

Thanks

Steam consumption, pressure and efficiency are intimately related to the design of the turbine and its heat recovery unit.

It is not possible to give exact figures without doing a detailed energy balance across the whole system. Refer the matter to a chemical engineer locally.

Janid

You have to start somewhere and to know the steam consumption required to run a 7 MW turbine one needs to know the steam conditions - temperature and pressure in and out.

To give you an idea of a high pressure condensing turbine (112 bar inlet steam) you are looking at a steam rate of around 0.00287 kg/kJ

I definetly wound work with a steampressure from 112 Bar, it's better to use a lower pressure and run with overheated steam, better lifetime off blades

For so far I know the gas turbine can easy produce 50 ton/hour

I just try to figger out hope some one can give me a good picture .

Let's whait and sea what showes up by this question in a few day's

I assume that you are the original poster?

Let me give you some comments and some more numbers so that you can possibly understand why your question can not be answered.

You give no indication of steam conditions, you give no indication of the speed of the turbine, you give no indication of the type of turbine.

To illustrate the point, a single stage steam turbine with inlet steam at 18 bar and exhaust at 5 bar would use about 30 kg/kW-hr if it was running at 7000 rpm, but it would use around 85 kg/kW hr if it was running at 1000 rpm. There would be another 20% difference depending whether you had 0 or 100 degC superheat.

A multi stage condensing turbine may use as little 4 to 6 kg/kW hour, so as you can see there is no answer to your question as posed.

By the way it is not "better to use a lower pressure and run with overheated steam, better lifetime off blades".

Hi Kaisan,

The turbine what I planning to use is a LM6ooo gas turbine,my idea is to driven the generator from the same turbine on the outer end by a extra steam turbine speed from the generator also from the steam turbine will be 3000 to 3600 RPM 7MW is my opinion a multistage steam turbine,Im not expierence anough to deside myself if i need a condense turbine this i will need to ask when project comes true on supplier advise! But it intrest me to discusse it. Im used to work on turbines even reblading im used bud I did not do any calculations.I can give or calculate you the clearence you shut need to use on your bearings, install the rotor nozzels. i hope i get additional info in vary soon then let's continue the discussion. I keep you informed. The steam production from the LM can produce anough steam to run a 20 MW steam turbine,we wound need the compleet capacity for this dinky!

Janid, I am in WHR Boilers, Steam Turbine and Combined System. I'd need more details of your exhaust from your generators before I can select the right steam turbine.

Suggestion and if someone is able to deliver price and delivery time?7 MW steam turbine package,MCC and fire fighting protection + auxiliary system +software.

This too can be done . Please get out off cr4 and communicate on my email address: duconems@yahoo.com
