100x(63-a)+25x(63-b)=3000.

Okay.

if x = 2 : a = 63, b = 3

(which, by the way is only ONE solution to your indefinite problem with MANY, if not INFINITE, SOLUTIONS)

I think the poster was using x as a multiplication symbol rather than a variable, but I like the way you think!

A single linear equation with two variables will never define a unique answer. There will either be no answer or an infinite number of answers. In this case it is the latter. This is a fundamental tenant of linear algebra. If you wish a better explanation or wish to impress us with your mathematical knowledge, transpose this equation into a square matrix. Demonstrate the Jordan canonical form of this matrix and give us the eigen values that define this square matrix.

Sheesh, you try to accommodate people and help those willing to learn and this pops up.

The Hebrew alphabet is not in the offered character set, but there are (I think) aleph-null (countably infinite) solutions to this equation. Just pick one.
