Line Current in a 2 wm Test

If I have a balanced load and 1 meter leads +35kW and the other -29kW how can I calculate the load power factor and the line current if the line voltage is 630V.

sorry that should be negative 20K.

I'm trying to figure out some examples in a text book.

What I can't figure out is how I can get the the appartnt power with out knowing the line current. Can I calculate the line current from the voltage and the P1, P2.

There is no mention of the load being a soarce.

I guess the example is talking about a motor as a load so not a soarce, right?

The first examples I did provided me with a value for the three lines and a voltage. This is not problem, I calculated the apparent power then the active and got from that the Pf.

The active power in this example will be 35-20=15kv.

You can calculate power factor by dividing true power by apparent power.

True, but how could I get the apparent power without being provided a line current? In previous examples I have done, I was told the line current, therefore I calculated the apparent power and then divided that by the active power to get the pf but how can I get to the same place when not provided with the line current?

In Three phase electrical circuit power can be calculated with the help of following relationship

Cos ф = Tan-1 √3*(W1-W2)/(W1+W2)

For power factors less than 0.5, one of the wattmeters would read negative.
