Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion

why is an OTEC (ocean thermal energy conversion) project still not implemented in India as we have lot of ocean body available with us ?

Most likely is because lower cost energy sources are still available. However, OTEC not only provides energy it can also provide freshwater.

As for source of electric energy say 1000KW. Can anyone have any estimate as to how much it will cost and actually take to complete. I understand there will be alot of field research but give an estimate...
