By simply walking or running, you may soon be able to generate enough usable electrical energy to power sensors to locate you in an emergency or even power portable devices such as cell phones and music players. Developed by Louisiana Tech University scientists, the piezoelectric device consists of a low-cost polymer transducer flexible enough to be embedded in a person's shoes.

I'm going to run a wire up my trowser leg, you can bet it's not going to be for something as boring as charging my mobile!

Also, if I'm going to have to walk to make a call, I'll just stroll to the payphone down the lane.

Exhaustive research and testing has been done by Cal Tech, MIT, and many others. Although a "heel-strike" has the potential power, the ability or device to harvest enough of the energy to charge a cell phone simply isn' there.

Yes. the mobile Phone can be charged while you walk. I have read an article with photos and details and I will try to loacte that copy and post it here. When I studied I did not take it serious but it is true , System is available to charge the mobile while you walk.
