Gulf of Mexico Oil Leak?

If The pipe in the ocean floor is 22" big and has a PSI of 170 000. How manny barrels of oil a day is that?

I find it highly unlikely that the pipe is withstanding 170,000 psi. That would require very thick walls, on the order of a tank cannon.

Actually the largest diameter of the casing is 36", at the deepest part of the well it is 9 5/8"... The well head system in use on the casing is 18.5".

Where did you get that pressure figure????

I might be wrong, but I seem to remember that pipe is 135 000 psi.

But anyway, with the high flow, there's no way you'd get that kind of pressure.

What you do need is this: the pipe diameter; the flow rate (like inches per second); and the percentage of the stream that's oil, not gas. Then you can do the calculation.
