At 24 gallons per day that is 2,160 gallons over a 90 day period.

Don't get me wrong its a great idea but how much does your water cost you and have you included that into your calculations for ROI.

A great Idea none the less and might be even more cost effective using a bucket of water with a small catch tray at the bottom of your filter for recovery. Using a small pump you can spray the water and recover it for recirculation.

Put a lid on the bucket and use the pour spout to route your supply and drain hoses.

Again great Idea but a slightly larger initial investment might net you a better return with less extended outlay.

Are you pulling the moisture from the mat and blowing it into the house? Maybe I read that wrong.

Not to good an idea dude, you are pumping water into the air inside your house at a rate which will lead to mold, mildew and myriad other possible health problems. The damage to your furnishings will cost you multiple dinero... Your doctor bills will quickly outweigh the savings on power and equipment needed for a proper system.

Depends where you live. In the middle of Phoenix Arizona, swamp coolers are used a lot. In a midwest summer your wallpaper would probably come off of the wall.

On the contrary the concept has been successful for many generations, centuries etc.. Use does require venting to allow or eleviate dampness etc..

The functional description of a swamp cooler and a humidifier sounds almost identical. That begs the question; what is the difference between these two types of units, or is there one?
