Device Color Code System

05/26/2010 2:40 PM

Device Color Code Systems Industrial control systems Vs. Power Industry. There are Standards for common process industry and there are Standards for the Power industry. They have there differences, what I have observed basically they are: 1- General Industry ( NOT POWER ) RED indication = Stopped, safe condition, the breaker is Opened / or De-Energized. GREEN indication = Running, Unsafe condition, the breaker is Closed / or Energized. 2- Power Industry (NOT General Industry ) RED indication = Warning, Unsafe condition, the breaker is Closed / or Energized. GREEN indication = normal, safe condition, the breaker is Opened / or De-Energized. Both are an industry standard it depends on what industry you are working in. Does anyone know where I could get documentation that would support my findings? Thanks, Lou M
