If the wiring leads on the machine allow it to be wired in star (wye) from the 11 kv supply, you could get about 6.35 kv, which is within 4% of 6.6 kv. If not, a transformer would work.

Guru:

But a machine runs on Phase-Phase voltage and a 6.6 KV motor would have been rated on P-P votage so i believe u can't run a 6.6 KV motor on 11 KV supply by just connecting a motor in Star,Thanks

Write down the emf equation of an alternator.

Look if you can vary any of the factors.

Check the effect on the other factors - electrical as well as magnetic circuits

decide

Enough for the hint.

One preparing for an interview- already completed your engineering? must have known this.
