that compression molding can also be used for this." It can be. Cycle times will be much longer.
You could also mix your own liquid PMMA and pour it into an open top mold and cure it. This would be the slowest process.
That reminds of the story about an electrical maintenance chap called in to set right a HT line blown down in high wind. He asks his helper to move aside one of the bare cables lying on the ground. The helper pushes it aside and asks what next. The electrician says,' Then the other one must be the HT cable'.
